My SUV Broke Down Until A Poor Boy Fixed It With Two Dollars

Wendell Hayes had made billion-dollar decisions in glass towers without blinking.

He’d bought companies after ten-minute phone calls. He’d fired executives with a single signature and never lost sleep over it. “I mean you just diagnosed and fixed a luxury SUV using parts that look like they came from a drawer nobody’s opened in ten years. You found the problem faster than most trained technicians would. That’s not ordinary.”

Jaylen looked at the ground.

“I just know engines.”

“No.” Wendell shook his head slowly. “You know systems.”

The word seemed to catch on something inside the boy. His eyes came up.
