One of the customers, unable to take it anymore, called the police. A few minutes later, an officer entered the store. He approached cautiously and said:
— Ma’am, you’re disturbing public order.
It’s not allowed to bring wild animals into the store. — My little bear is a pet, — she replied calmly. — He behaves better than many customers and doesn’t knock down the cookie shelves.
— I understand, ma’am, but rules are rules. Animals aren’t allowed here. — But he’s not an animal, — she said.
— He’s like a son to me. Just a bit furrier. The officer stood across from her, trying to speak calmly but firmly.
Meanwhile, the little bear, with intelligent eyes, sat quietly on the floor, watching his owner closely. — Ma’am, if you don’t leave the premises, I’ll have to arrest you, — he said, pulling out his handcuffs. The woman suddenly cried out:
— Don’t touch me!
I haven’t done anything! The officer stepped forward to handcuff her, but at that exact moment, the little bear did something completely unexpected — something that terrified everyone present 😲😱
At that moment, the little bear, who had been sitting quietly at his owner’s feet, suddenly tensed up. His breathing grew heavy, his eyes flashed, and he rose onto his hind legs.
— Little bear, easy… — the woman whispered. But it was already too late. The little bear let out a deep growl, swung his paw, and with one powerful blow knocked the officer to the floor.
The handcuffs flew from his hand and clattered across the tiles. Customers screamed, some ran outside, while the woman stood frozen, her hands pressed to her face. — Little bear… what have you done… — she whispered.
A few minutes later, more officers arrived. The little bear was sedated and taken away, despite the old woman’s desperate pleas. She cried, clutching the officers’ arms, repeating again and again:
— Please, don’t take him!
He just wanted to protect me! He’s like a son to me, do you understand? Like a son!
But no one listened.
